New Year and Looking Forward

Yes I know it’s the 6th of January but I hope you have had a good start to the New Year.

I’ve actually started spring cleaning or let us be honest moving things around so it feels like things are less cluttered. I was getting annoyed about how my artwork was just lying around my office and not really together so got it all together and sorted out what I want to keep over the stuff I didn’t and I was quite surprised at how much I did last year.

So I took this photo and yes I put it on Instagram. I need to work on a few of these and then varnish them with probably matt or satin varnish (They are the ones I have and not sure some will like a glossy finish) I haven’t done that to any painting before so will try it on one I don’t want to sell.

Yes it’s abstract that’s how my brain works and I got into using POSCA and Molotow paint pens. Both are great to use but I do think Molotow are slightly better in that you can refill them so you don’t have to buy the pen again and again and they do a really good chrome pen as well which I am a little bit obsessed with. I think both though are great to use and yes POSCA is more budget craft-friendly both have a good selection of colours I suppose it just depends on your budget because I KNOW I want to buy more Molotow stuff but yeah my own budget is a bit low at the moment.

I’m so glad my confidence has gone up about selling my artwork thought and to be honest, it was never the selling that was the issue more like how do I sell them. I didn’t want to sell on Etsy. I used to sell things on there a while back and I don’t like how it’s gone since then so I found a website called Numonday which is for UK sellers and has no fees. I also used to hate sending things through the post. I used to get so much anxiety selling funko pops through eBay but so far not had any major problems and I feel a lot more confident now. NOT that I sell overseas YET.

I’m kinda excited about all of this though and yes it’s only a few days into the new year but I have to keep doing things that are a little bit out of my comfort zone. Last year was put my photography online which I’m working on to be more of a thing. I enjoy taking photos and used to never do anything about them so just went for it and yeah the world didn’t implode in on itself or anything and now I want to do the same with my wonderful abstract art. Stop being scared of showing my creative side and just DO IT!

I already have a feeling this year is going to be a good one maybe I’ll jinx myself saying that but hey I’m just trying to be positive because negativity never works you can trust me on that.

Till the next time
